When I was about 11, I was utterly obsessed with butterflies. I had butterfly earrings, butterfly hair clips, and butterfly stickers on my bedroom window. I even had the most atrocious crop-top with a butterfly made from sequins and rhinestones. Hey, what can I say? It was the early 2000s.
Even though I’ve long outgrown my butterfly obsession, I still think they’re pretty nice to look at, so I thought I’d make a simple butterfly printable for my living room.
I’ve made some butterfly printables before, but this time I wanted something with a bit of colour. So I combed through the Biodiversity Heritage Library’s flickr account until I found this image. I took the butterflies from the first row, cleaned up the scan, and rearranged them so that they were vertical rather than horizontal.
This free printable is designed for an 8″ x 10″ frame, but can be downsized in your printer settings if your frame is smaller. You can make it bigger but this will result in some quality loss.
